All 7 Oni Armaments — Locations and Unlock Conditions

Every Oni Armament in Onimusha: Way of the Sword: The Two Celestials, Oni Bow, Wind-Whipper, Earth-Shakers, Firebird Flute, Flashing Void and Still Water.

Seven Oni Armaments — the gauntlet's arsenal across the campaign.

Oni Armaments are the campaign's special weapons, each tied to a story beat or a specific chest. None are permanently missable except by ignoring chests — here's where all seven live.

1. The Two Celestials

Where: Kiyomizu-dera Temple. How: destroy the second Thread Genma binding the second Oni Gate, then loot the chest it was tethered to. Musashi's two-sword style — you'll feel the difference immediately.

2. Oni Bow

Where: Oni Refuge (the Oni Hideout). How: a chest directly on the mandatory story path. Strictly unmissable — the game hands it over in cutscene. Your key to red orbs, distant locks and oni-eater bugs.

3. Wind-Whipper

Where: the mission "The Oni's Apprentice." How: the chest auto-generates once you've unlocked the Training Grounds and boss rematch features. If it hasn't spawned, finish that unlock first and revisit.

4. Earth-Shakers

Where: Underground Laboratory, sublevel B4. How: the chest in the room right after the fan puzzle — the descending-ceiling sequence where you shoot the four red-corded rollers. Grab it on your way out.

5. Firebird Flute

Where: the mission "Shadows Fall" — at the fissure site by the shrine on Gojo's south-east side. How: a chest at that location. Easy to sweep while clearing the area's Prison Windows.

6. Flashing Void

Where: Mount Oe, the castle courtyard. How: inside a cave you enter with a slide move. If the cave mouth looks too narrow — that's the one.

7. Still Water

Where: the Swamp of Arashiyama, map's north-east corner. How: an open-world style chest; walk up and open it. The tachi earns its keep through the endgame climb.

Collection Tips

  • Prioritize the Oni Vision skills — Treasure, Treasure 2, and Search Range — before sweeping for anything.
  • Build the exploration habit: hold L2/LT and tap R2/RT in every new room.
  • Oni Armaments do not carry over into New Game+.

Want the collectible checklist too? It pairs naturally with the all 23 Genma Records list.
