Roshogan Boss Guide — Cut the Thread, Break the Wish Demon

Roshogan solved: the thread-cutting core mechanic, the pause-buffer trick for the fast grab, why the spinning charge beats deflection attempts, and the phase-two reflect play.

The demon feeding on Kyoto's twisted wishes has one mechanic that defines the whole fight — and one trick that makes its scariest move fair.
The Thread Is the Fight
A visible thread connects Roshogan to its stolen power at all times. Slash the thread wherever it appears: every cut severs the link and staggers the boss into a recovery. See a thread, cut a thread — that discipline alone wins most of the fight.
Phase two turns the thread offensive: the boss grabs debris with it and hurls it at you. Shoot the thread with your bow and the debris drops straight back onto the boss's head.
The Moves
The fast pull-in. Roshogan can yank Musashi across the arena at nearly unreadable speed, usually following up with a grab or a heavy slash. The community trick: the moment the pull connects, pause the game, breathe, ready your thumb — then unpause and react. It turns an unfair speed check into a timing test.
Weapon swings. No delayed-slash mixups here — mostly heavy swings, and both deflects and parries come out comfortably.
Grabs. Short wind-up: the instant a hand lights up, be dodging. And note the pull-grab range is enormous — "safe distance" doesn't exist in this fight.
The spinning charge. Do not try to deflect it. The first charge blocked, the boss immediately plants a hand and launches a second charge at a different speed — the deflect rhythm breaks and you eat it. Instead: as it closes in, double-tap dodge plus directional input to slide out laterally.
