New Genma Revealed — the Soul-Stealing Kubiakari and the Ever-Hungry Datsura

Capcom introduced two Genma from Onimusha: Way of the Sword: Kubiakari, the floating thief that snatches your souls, and the boss-class brute Datsura.

Among the Genma haunting Way of the Sword's Kyoto, two official introductions stand out — one that harasses your economy, one that tests your guard.
Kubiakari
A ghostly pale-blue Genma that drifts above the battlefield and does something uniquely rude: it steals the souls Musashi was about to absorb. Left alone, it swells and spits glowing projectiles back down at you. Small, strange and easy to underestimate — but in a long fight, a squad of Kubiakari quietly dismantles your soul economy. Kill them early or fight everyone at a deficit. The Genma Records log where they cluster.
Datsura
Boss-class muscle. Datsura swings a massive weapon like it weighs nothing and charges across the arena with its whole bulk, all driven by an appetite that never switches off — the official profile describes a Genma perpetually on the edge of frenzy about its next meal. The counterplay is patient defense into punished recovery windows; our full Datsura guide walks the fight phase by phase.
Both designs underline the game's rhythm: Kyoto's monsters are not just damage dealers, they attack your plan — your souls, your spacing, your nerve.
